What is a Nassau Bet?

A Nassau is the most popular golf bet. It's actually three bets in one: one bet on the front 9, one on the back 9, and one on the overall 18-hole match. Each bet is played as match play — the player who wins the most holes wins that portion.

How Does Match Play Scoring Work?

On each hole, the player with the lower score wins that hole. If both players score the same, the hole is "halved." The match status is tracked as "1 UP", "2 UP", etc. for the player who has won more holes.

What is an Auto-Press?

A press is a new bet that starts when one player falls behind by a set number of holes (typically 2). It's like a "double or nothing" for the remaining holes in that 9. Presses are optional but very common in Nassau betting.
